Écologique | Sustainability BRG



tl;dr: I founded and led a Publicis Groupe-wide sustainability employee group.


I’ve cared about the environment for a while, but I more recently decided to take a lot more action on it. When I realized we didn’t have a Business Resource Group (BRG) dedicated to a regenerative future, I raised my hand to start one. And we went from one member to 750 in just over a year. 

LEADERSHIP

It all started with a small group of passionate individuals across many disciplines and agencies at the Publicis Groupe holding company, from Publicis Sapient San Francisco to Leo Burnett Chicago to Epsilon Boston. I helped bring together a very diverse group of people, lay down the basic organizational building blocks and lead us toward a common vision. 

BRANDING

We built our brand from scratch. Tapping into our French heritage, I called us Écologique, meaning “eco-friendly.” It’s a lot more ownable and fun than the many “Green Teams” that exist. We then held a logo contest and were pleased with the results.




EVENTS

We hosted a wide range of events, from a net zero panel to a vegan cooking class to an intersectional environmentalist book club and keynote. 

  


INITIATIVES

We also worked to support and implement larger initiatives, like a carbon emissions tracking program, a green gift guide, a sustainable office challenge and more. We look forward to making an even larger impact in the future.
